What an Irony Is It ?? ??

Oct. 24th, 2005 | 04:42 pm
mood: aggravatedaggravated

Recently I was going through some historical and philosophical articles...
And suddenly something struck me deeply... I was pained..

I was reading about Gautama, (The Buddha) as what he is known.
entitled "The Light of Asia" ....

Why did he sacrifice his life for?? why he left his royal life??

For finding out the answer for the suffering of the world.... to teach them a way of getting nirvana....

But what did the world give him back??

Figurines? Colossus? and statues!!! did he ask for that?

Only thing he wanted is , that the world understand the valuble thing he had found , and learn to LIVE with what he taught.

But the world ,(the people) banished his teachings... drove them out of this country... Adulterated his teaching by mixing them with their local religion. Adding him to the avataras of Vishnu.... etc

And finally , what is left?? Nothing... except statues.. and collssus.... which he never wanted.
But his teachings...??
are forgotten, adulterated and given the least importance.
Isnt it the shame on the face of humanity??
The sole cause of his personal sacrifice for the sake of mankind has been made meaningless...
except for saying stories... to kids.. (like a folklore)..
"Loka Sahasra Sukhino Bhavantu".... ? who cares about the world..
live to cheat, live to lie.. live to fool ourself in our own blindness....

A scripture says

" There is no achievement in conquering the whole world,
when he cannot save his own soul.. "

Review of iPOD and Sandisk MP3 Player

Sep. 16th, 2005 | 07:16 pm
mood: geekygeeky

Hello friends,
Now I am back with the review of iPOD which my brother bought for himself, and Sandisk Mp3 Player which he bought for me...
After digging into the features of i POD nano, which cost some 150$ and more,
my freatures reports are,...
It has great cool appeal which all apple products have.
Its cool display , which is very similar to quicktime player..
you can arrange music, make playlists.. and all...
more to that, you can store pictures, listen to audiobooks...etc
But I dont think it has capability to play movie clips.
It has huge disk space from 1 GB.
can store upto 1000+ songs, it depends on size and bitrate as u know well.
The touch jogwheel is really nice but needs some experience to be comfortable.
Feature which are exclusive to iPOD which you wont expect, they are:
1. You can make you car audio player to play your iPOD.(or for that matter any audioplayer which has FM) But the quality must be compromised.
2. Podcasting is a feature where a music file can be published on net and broadcasted to iPOD.
3. Syncing to do lists calenders.
4. Lock you iPOD
5.Games
etc...
The features which I feel iPOD really lacking is...
Bluetooth or Infrared Transfer from iPOD to iPOD.
if this feature is present, it would have been easy for ppl to share music inbetween them without searching for computers.

Coming to the Sandisk mp3 player....
Firstly its a entry level embedded (flashdisk) mp3 player with some extra features ...
It is light, small and will fit into your smallest pocket possible, when compared to its bulky competitors..
It has 512 MB flashdisk which can function as pen drive.
Has preset and custom equalizers. Supports mp3 and wma formats...
FM stereo inbuilt tuner, and voice recorder. Its flashy blue backlite,
and three-button/one-joystick design and easy-to-navigate user interface.
It can play upto 256kbps bitrate in mp3.
It costs 70$ total.
one disadvantage with it as what i feel is, The player cannot be directly plugged into usb, it comes with a cable which u need to use.
But in other similar players of indian make, they can be directly plugged into usb ports, but makes them bulky due to this feature.

So I feel that if u want to listen to music, and just music,
I feel that SanDisk mp3 player or similar player are best option when compared to expensive iPOD for which we generally dont use extra features other than listening music. The useful feature of wireless transfer of music files is missing , which i feel will be very useful in iPOD.
give me feedback on how good is the review and did i miss any areas to compare.
Note: Images shown above are from external sources, they may be inconsistent at times.

After a long break

Aug. 29th, 2005 | 10:14 am
mood: apatheticapathetic

Got some time to lj after a long time,
I had been busy all these days preparing for GRE, TOEFL, and after writing both exams,
I left to Delhi for getting my marks sheets and attestations,
and after I returned back to chennai , I drowned into my office work and application filling process,.
but at last... i just releaved my self from this heavy stress by going to a telugu movie "Athadu"
the movie is very nice overall, with excellent picturization, songs, dances, fights, dialogues etc. And not to mention trisha's over action as a girl who prides of her beauty. But the main flaw as what I see in this movie is that, the director projects the hero "Mahesh Babu" as a extremely heroic character which will make the audience to admire him, But the character of the lead role is that he is a hitman who kills people for money from the age of 10.
He is shown as a cold hearted person, in that parts of his hitman sequences, but with style.
The director shows the hero kill people with style, like rotating knifes and making the crimes smartly, which impresses the audiences.
This is the very thing i criticize.... Such themes will spoil the morale of the public, The youth , who are influenced by movies start thinking that behaving like that is heroic, and start that as a fashion.
Rest of the movie is very good,
thats all for now....

End of College Life

Jun. 10th, 2005 | 02:30 pm

Here it comes, the end of my College days, where i used to freak around, sleep in odd hours, do all sorts of nonsense.
Loaf around and , rarely study.....

Now my life started demanding more responsibilites... every decision i take, every move i make,
has drastic consequences.
I feel like I have come out of cucoon to see the world...
I feel the world i used to live has changed... or i should say, I changed the way i used to see the world...

But all this is a part of life... adding more value and competencies.

My assorted saturday

Feb. 6th, 2005 | 05:45 pm
mood: exhaustedexhausted

This is i should say a productive saturday for me,
ya i got up at 6 O clock...
went jogging to mareina beach along with jay sir... after reaching there i felt completely exhuastive...
but , i saw at distance , some ppl playing VOLLEYBALLLLLLL,
this is the movement i have been waiting for since many .... i should say ages.
But the prob is i dont know tamil, jay sir understood my desire , so he approached then and spoke to them something something.. (what all i can understand is a phrase 'JOIN'),
they joined me and told sir also to join ( as sir was hesitating since he is a novice)
i played and played and played, i became full of sand and sweat.... i fotgot the fact that i got some valubles like mobile etc in my pocket ...
and when the sun got hotter... the play also got...
and suddenly police appeared.. i thought its their daily rounds...
but they came to us and started speaking something in tamil, i could fortunately understand tamil a bit.
As the conversation continued , what i grasped is that we are not supposed to play there with balls etc as it is a disturbance to public, he was saying that we need to go to station and sign something.
and at last he warned and left... so walked backed home along with sir, (some 2 kms or so) it has become a habbit for me everyday to walk some 5 kms overall.
Ate breakfast and took some rest....
We are to attend an important lecture , (our first lecture in ilugc),
its about hacking an open source micro kernel called HURD, its in development stage,
and the speaker anand babu introduced us to the atchitecture and concepts of this micro kernel..
i dont want to go into the details of the lecture...
but we like it very much..
mainly the group of indian linux users chennai is really active and enthuiastic...
i met a person who is my e friend since many years,
he used to post in a linux fourm in which i used to post.. we both posted and discussed many threads in that site...
and at last i could meet him in person..,
i came out of the lecture in middle as i was invited to attend a beer party by my Project Manager, he is going to leave , so he is giving a party,
so i was compelled to attend it although i wanted to continue the lecture....

My 1st experience in a boozer party,
its a dark and smoke filled air conditioned pub, i ordered some cool drinks , chips ,and some munchurian,
many of my colleagues offered us cigarettes and beer, but i convienced them with lot of difficulty that i am a teetotalar and non smoker,
some how we passed time talking all scrap, and at last bade farewell to our PM, then we left for seeing a movie,

Strange movie...
after we reached movie hall, we found out that ticket are full for all films except tamil,
not to dissatisfy our selves, we went in search of nearest cinema halls, and found out that shabd is running in another hall,
so some how reached that hall after lot of enquiries... and got tickets....
the movie is really complex with complex feeling and emotions,
but its not obscene except for some side dancers and tatoos of sanjay dutt (which is not obscene at all of many).
The movie is drama type and i really felt irritated and impatient as to when this movie will be over till 1st 30 mins,
but as the story continued .. ( the viewers has to tune their minds to sanjay dutt's mind),,
and everything is clear,
but on the whole a different unabsorbable, and strange story, but he direction and screen play were ok..
the back ground music is too good...
and the ending is unpredictable...
some how i felt releaved after the movie is over..
and my journey in auto back home is also strange....
the auto driver,, although seems to be drunken , but is really not...
he was singing some tamil songs loudly and swaying his hands with 1 bidi in 1 hand and second hand in air (not holding the handle at all)... with that bidi..
we feared that again police will catch and take ur to police station, like the incident in my previous post...
but it didnt happen ,,
at last we reached home .. and slept happily.

Police police poppu charu, police pellam Uppu Chapa. ;) (telugu)

Jan. 31st, 2005 | 06:02 pm
mood: crazycrazy

Hy,
at last we are caught by police and sent to police station,
the incident is as follows, we are returning home after watching tv in jay kumar sir house at about 1 O Clock at night,
and suddenly 3 police stopped and enquired about our stroll on road in tamil, we told that we dont know tamil, then they asked where are we from, what we are doing here at night, and all questions, they asked us to show some identity, unfortunately our company id cards are not printed yet, so we showed college id cards, he enquired where the college is , and sent us to police station, we dont know why we are being sent to police station , what we have done, is going on road at night 1 o clock is a crime?? , when we are enquiring them, they are saying nothing serious, dont worry,
at last we reached police station, we are also pranking , saying " we have never seen a police station and its a good chance to see",
the station is clean and nice than what we thought there are no cells to keep convicts, one person sitting in at a desk , started asking our name, father name, mother name, native address, age , sex and everything... he is writing something in tamil, which we cannot understand at all, and at last asked us to sign on it. We thought he is making us agree some crime by signing. So we started enquiring why we should sign there, what it meant and all, then they said that its just a log of who where found roaming at night , so that if any crime happens in that area, they are going to match us to the crime.. we were scared, but then the officers told ,dont worry its all formality, and we just signed and left.
thats it.
